Food Security: HFDI-ED Meets Ikot Umiang-Ede Village Head On Cassava Production Factory, Calls Out To Stakeholders

The Executive Director Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI Ambassador Dr. Aremu Stephen recently paid a courtesy visit to the village head of Ikot Umiang-Ede; Etteidung Apostle Dr. Effiong Richard Udosen, in ikot Umiang Ede, Etinan L.G.A. of Akwa Ibom State.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss about the on-going cassava production processing factory project situated at the village.
Dr Aremu emphasized the need for the project to be completed, so as to help the local cassava farmers, have a place to process their cassava easily and also to be able to compete in the local and international market; for exports.
Though the HFDI Executive Director; expressed his concern over the project community members not showing the expected commitment as agreed, adding that certain work at the project site were yet to be completed.
He used the medium to call out to the community stakeholders to partner the organization in empowering the people by providing a means of livelihood for them.
The Village Head, Etteidung Apostle Dr. Effiong in his response appreciated HFDI for being passionate about helping the Ikot Umiang-Ede community, he listed their challenges and promised to solicit for more support financially towards the completion of the project, while still needing the intervention of the HFDI Executive Director till the project is completed.
Also speaking, the youth Leader; Obong Aniekan Bassey Okon thanked the HFDI-ED for his enormous support on the project, he added that the community as a whole has agreed to name the factory after Amb. Dr. Aremu Stephen, and he also asked for more support from Amb. Dr. Aremu Stephen till the completion of the project.
