NUJ TO CONVENES NATIONAL SECURITY SUMMIT IN ABUJA

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced plans to hold a National Security Summit in Abuja from June 18 to 19, 2026, as part of efforts to deepen discussions on national security challenges and the role of the media in promoting peace, stability and national development.

According to a notice issued by the National Secretary of the Union, Achike Chude, members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) and National Executive Council (NEC) are expected to arrive in Abuja on June 17, ahead of the commencement of the summit.

The two-day event will bring together key stakeholders to deliberate on critical security issues facing the nation and explore strategies for strengthening collaboration between the media and security institutions.

The summit is expected to serve as a platform for robust discussions on contemporary security concerns and the media’s responsibility in fostering national cohesion and public safety.

Arrangements are in top gear for a successful summit by the organizing committee chaired by the Deputy National President, Dr Abimbola Oyetunde
