CC IGBALAWOLE SOTIYO TAKES OVER AS NSCDC EKITI COMMANDANT

Commandant Igbalawole Emmanuel Sotiyo has resumed duty as the Commander of Corps of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ekiti State Command, as he officially assumed duty as the 18th substantive Commandant of the Command, taking over from the outgoing Commandant, Toma Enya Matthew who has been posted to Osun state.

The change of baton marks not only a transition in leadership but also the beginning of another opportunity to consolidate the gains of the Command and build an even stronger, more responsive and people-oriented NSCDC in Ekiti State.

As the new helmsman assumes office, Commandant Sotiyo charged the management team, Area Commanders and all Officers and Personnel of the Command to take their responsibilities seriously and remain committed to the mandate of the Corps.

He emphasized the need for professionalism, discipline, dedication, teamwork, accountability and effective service delivery, urging every officer to see his or her position as a responsibility to the people rather than merely an office.

The new Commandant also encouraged the various Area Commanders and heads of departments to strengthen supervision and ensure that officers under their command remain focused, disciplined and responsive to the security needs of the people.

According to him, moving the Ekiti State Command forward requires the collective commitment of everyone.

He therefore called for stronger internal cooperation, improved operational effectiveness, better engagement with stakeholders and a renewed determination to protect lives, critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as maintain peace and security across the State.
