CCNC SUE FOR PEACE OVER POLITICAL TENSION IN OSUN LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, ALERT SECURITY AGENCIES

The ongoing political tensions and the increasing divisions, misinterpretation of judgement of the court and violence inciting statements from political juggernauts is worrisome in Osun state.

The Coalition of Concerned Nigeria Citizens call for an immediate ceasefire and an urgent commitment to peace and rule of law.

The escalating conflict has resulted in significant harm, not only to our democratic institutions but also to the well-being of citizens from all walks of life.

Our attention has been drawn to some desperate politicians planning to cause more mayhem in the state before the end of this week and affect the relative peace everyone is enjoying in the state . we call in the security agencies to track the flow of strange faces into the state .

Irrespective of how the constitution is interpreted, it must not be by a force to take over a local government. The due process is expected to be followed for an inherent part of any healthy democracy, but the recent events have proven that the stakes have grown too high. The polarization between opposing factions has led to harmful rhetoric, civil unrest, and loss of lives .

In these challenging times, it is imperative that we put peace and people as first in anything we do . We urge all the security agencies , parties, and supporters to embrace peace. The Judiciary has a role to play by interpretation of its judgement in clear terms.

We believe that through a clear communication and a shared commitment to democratic principles and clear principles of law , we can heal the wounds of this political conflict and move forward toward a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

We plead with all concerned citizens, political figures, and organizations to join us in this call for peace and to stand together in the spirit of cooperation and common good.
