Following the spate of insecurity across the country, Management of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa has taken proactive steps to ensure the safety of lives and properties of both staff and students on campus.
Among Steps taken to beef-up security and ensure that both staff and students of the College are safe, the institution has engaged the services of a security expert as the Chief Security Officer who will henceforth see to the overall security of the College.
In view of this, both students and staff of the College are henceforth required to submit themselves for security checks, as well as follow some new security protocols which have been rolled out by the College.
According to an internal memo signed by the Registrar of the College, Mr Moshood Afolabi, both staff and students must ensure that they present their identification card for checks at the main entrance of the College, else they won’t be allowed on campus.
The memo stated further that all vehicles entering the College will henceforth be properly screened and given a security tag before being allowed to drive in and such security tags must be submitted back to the security personnel at the gate before being allowed to drive out.
It added that motorcycles, unregistered vehicles, obstructed number plates and anybody with face masks shall no longer be allowed into the College premises.
The memo reads in parts, “In a bid to ensure security of lives and properties, the College has employed a Chief Security Officer (CSO) whose responsibility is in charge of the overall security of the College.
“It is now mandatory for all motorists to collect security tag at the College main entrance before entering the College and the tag must be equally submitted while leaving the College to control inflow.
“Vehicles entering the College would be properly screened by the College Security Personnel in orde to control miscreants and unscrupulous elements. Henceforth, motorcycles, unregistered vehicles, obstructed number plates ang anybody with face mask shall not be allowed to enter College premises.
“College’s Staff and Students must put on their Identity Cards within the College for proper identification. Any Student who fails to put on the school uniforms and 1.D card would be sent back at the College entrance gate”.
