Improve your skills and be good at what you do – Exceptional Ladies tells Osun Women

Osun State women has been charged by Exceptional Ladies, to improve on their skills and become experts, who will impact lives and the society positively.

 

The group of high powered women, supported by the Wife of Osun state Governor, Ambassador Erelu Ngozi Adeleke made this known at its third edition of Exceptional Ladies Conference, theme: Contribute, Collaborate and Lead, empowering the next generation of women in business and management, held at WOCDIF Events Centre Osogbo.

 

In her welcome remarks, Chief Mrs Folasade Omole charged the participants, who are mostly young females in tertiary institution, to start a skill alongside education, adding that they should also have a mentor who will guide them into the future.

 

She pointed out that it has veen observed that a lot of youths are not focused on mentorship, but on making quick money at the detriment of their future.

 

In her keynote address, the Wife of the Governor, Ambassador Erelu Ngozi Adeleke represented by Mrs. Olusola Jenyo, wife of the Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, emphasised that “the future we desire for women can not be achieved in isolation, but through collective contribution of ideas, collaboration of minds, and courageous leadership”.

 

She highlighted the impactful interventions of her Esther Adeleke Humanitarian Foundation, particularly in empowering women through SME training programmes, vocational training in beauty and cosmetology, and support initiatives for women with triplets, widows, orphans, persons living with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

 

Erelu Ngozi Adeleke used the medium to reaffirm that the administration of her husband, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, remains committed to the welfare of women and the overall development of Osun State.

 

Also, the Wife of Osun state Deputy Governor, Deaconess Mrs Olusola Adewusi emphasised that nation building starts from individual lives and homes, and she urged the female gender to utilise their multi tasking skill to improve their lives and create an enabling environment for themselves and family.

 

In the lecture series, the first speaker, Mrs Abimbola Akinkugbe, CEO Moulding Technologies Limited, urged the participants not to be ashamed of little beginnings, but to see every challenge as opportunity to develop. She charged all to be interested in happenings around them, identify core areas, develop their skills and build on the knowledge.

 

Using her life experience as example, she said that Women leaders in organisations shows 15-percent profitability more than men, because women delivers as they are able to multitask, added that despite responsibility women perform well.

 

She urged the future generation to start development from where they are, avoid the negative impact of social media, and be known for good character and integrity, while she highlighted core values for success as integrity, innovation, reputation, service, collaboration and excellence.

 

Speaking on leadership, she said it is about responsibility, and advised that the female gender set standards, take accountability, lift as they climb and share their story, capacity, substance, and truth, adding that women must have ability and be result oriented.

 

Also in her discussion, Mrs Adenike Daramola, Regional Manager Wema Bank, corroborated that leadership entails team work, and she appealed to the female gender to keep improving on their skills, adding that the crafts they know will excel them.

 

“Everything you need to know and project to do is on your phones, utilise it well, collaborate with those of like minds, and with the greatest collaboration: God, be prayerful” – she opined.

 

At the 2026 Edition of Ladies Conference which diversified into Mentorship programmes which include: Event Planning and Management, Education, Agriculture and Agricultural Value Chain, Management (Public Service and Corporate), Fashion, Trade and Commerce, Health, and Real Estate, the. Convener Pastor Segun Oduyebo applauded the consistency of the team members of Exceptional Ladies.

 

Adding that the stage is set for the future generation to take charge of activities and positions that will enhance nation building, he added that survival, focus, discipline and dedication to goals will make success achievable, while he used the medium to appreciate partners such as the Ministry of Education, and Tertiary Institutions, among others for their support.

 

The Exceptional Ladies Conference climaxed with a rich breakout session into the Mentorship groups, followed by a panel session which featured the CEO of Abebi Foods: Mrs Adebisi Ganiyat Olatunde among the speakers.
