NAWOJ EXPRESSES GRIEF, COMMISERATES WITH FAMILIES OF VICTIMS OF BOMB BLAST

Following the recent bomb blast that occurred in three locations in Gwoza Community in Borno State, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ has expressed a deep sense of grief about the unfortunate development and enjoined families of victims to take heart.

The National Chairperson of the association, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, in a statement signed by Wasila Ladan, National Secretary, commiserated with the Government and people of Borno State and tasked the Federal, State and local governments on more effort at strengthening security in states ravaged by insurgency.

“To say the least, this is a sad development. The people of Borno state have been enjoying a tranquil and peaceful state in recent times, until this despicable incident that occurred on Saturday, 29th of June, 2024 which reportedly claimed the lives of over 18 persons with about 48 injured.” The National Chairperson stated.

She added that the association will continue to remember and pray with families of victims as they mourned and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the dead.

“May Allah comfort those who lost loved ones and friends, grant those injured a quick recovery and total healing.” The National Chairperson prayed.

She also prayed that the people of Gwoza community and Borno state at large enjoyed peace and prosperity in abundance going forward.
