Osun NAWOJ Greets Residents at Sallah, Celebrates Children on Children’s Day

Osun State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has extended Sallah greetings to Muslims across the state while also celebrating children on the occasion of Children’s Day.

In a statement, signed by the Chairperson Comrade Abisola Ariwodola and Secretary Oluwaranti Ojewumi, the chapter felicitated with residents on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity that the festival represents. NAWOJ called on leaders and citizens to use the period to strengthen peace, security and promote social cohesion in Osun State.

The association also marked Children’s Day by reaffirming its commitment to advocating for the rights, welfare, and protection of every child. Osun NAWOJ emphasized the need for increased investment in child education, health, and safety, noting that children remain central to the state’s future development.

The chapter encouraged parents, guardians, and stakeholders to create enabling environments where children can thrive free from abuse, discrimination, and neglect.

Osun NAWOJ said it will continue to use its platform to amplify issues affecting women and children, and to promote inclusive reporting that gives voice to vulnerable groups in the state.

Happy Sallah Celebration, and Happy Children’s Day Celebration, the statement ended.
