Advocacy: HFDI Visits TNT And OKIN FM Offa to Strengthen Media Collaboration

Hope For Development Initiative, HFDI, conducted advocacy visits to TNT FM and OKIN FM in Offa, Kwara State, as part of efforts to strengthen media partnerships and leverage community radio for health and development communication
The visits, held recently was aimed at enhancing HFDI’s organisational visibility and exploring opportunities to use radio platforms to disseminate information to communities across Offa and environs.
At TNT FM, the HFDI team was received by the Station Manager, Mr. Banwo who welcomed the delegation and provided a platform for discussion.
The Programme Specialist, Bamidele Abdulwarith, introduced the team and outlined the purpose of the visit.
In his remarks, the Executive Director of HFDI, Amb. Dr. Aremu Stephen presented the organisation’s mission, areas of intervention, ongoing programmes, and commitment to working with strategic stakeholders for community development.
He noted that the collaboration would create awareness about HFDI projects and share relevant information to benefit the community.
Similarly at OKIN FM, the HFDI team also met with management to discuss the proposed media collaboration and the need for complimentary airtime to support wider community awareness.
The team highlighted the critical role of community radio in reaching diverse audiences and extending project and development messages beyond direct community activities.
HFDI emphasised that the proposed collaboration is not solely for organisational promotion, but to provide a platform for community education, awareness creation, information sharing, and constructive dialogue on issues affecting young people, families, and communities.
The advocacy visits were positively received by both stations, possible platforms for the planned radio engagement, and this provided HFDI an opportunity to strengthen relationships with media stakeholders in Offa and understand their programming arrangements for future engagement.
