Osun state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has emerged as one of the best four Commissioners in Nigeria on the basis of an online process, courtesy of an Abuja based National Leadership Awards Limited.
The award which was non political, based on merit on the antecedents of each of the award recipients, had Oluomo Kolapo Alimi voted as the only one from the South West geo political zone of Nigeria, as the Best Commissioner in Nigeria for year 2025.
Also the Commissioner for Finance, Jigawa state , Professor Hannatu Sabo Ahmad emerged as the best commissioner in Nigeria from the North West geo political zone.
Also on the list is the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Ebonyi State Engineer Stanley Lebechi Mbam who got honoured as the Best in Nigeria from the South East Geo-political zone.
Similarly, the national award which was heavily attended, had investiture ceremony which took place at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja on Thursday, 28th of August, 2025 were Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad, Commissioner for Finance, Kebbi State smiled home as the Best from the North West and Hon. (Mrs) Natasha Osawaru Idibia, wife of Tuface Idibia, a Legislator from Edo State was decorated as Nigeria’s Best Legislator from the South South for year 2025.
Alimi’s award according to the organiser was anchored on his hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence as a Commissioner in the Government of Osun state, who over the years exhibited rare sense of commitment and dedication to the state.
According to the organisers, “With all sense of responsibility and sincerity devoid of any political or other prejudice, the selection committee of National Leadership Awards Limited, after a well carried out online voting process, is pleased to announce that, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, emerged as the best Commissioner in Nigeria from the South West Geo political zone, he is a professional who truly showcases merit and competence while carrying out his day to day assignments.
“The online results showed Oluomo Kolapo Alimi as one Commissioner who has truly made an indelible impact more than any other commissioner in the entire South West of Nigeria.

In his acceptance speech shortly after his investiture, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi who dedicated the award to Governor Ademola Adeleke, members of the Osun state Executive Council, as well as the entire media and non media sectors of Osun, said he felt greatly humbled and honored with such an award coming from no less a bias free, non political but merit driven organisation like National Leadership Awards Limited, Abuja.
Alimi also in his acceptance speech which drew a standing ovation from the retinue of who is who at the event tagged *An Evening of Excellence* acknowledged and lauded the good people of Osun state for their love and acceptance of Ademola Adeleke led government while articulating and propagating its programmes, policies and activities in the last three years when it came on board the governance of the 34 year old state.
“On a personal note, I want to specially thank the National Leadership Awards Limited for this award, which is very dear to me and my dear Governor, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Ademola Adeleke, whom I am dedicating it to.
