Frank Mba Former NPF DIG, Celebrates 60 Years, Opens Legal Chamber
Former Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Chukwuemeka Mba, mnipr, PhD, has marked his 60th birthday with the unveiling of his law firm, Frank Mba Legal, in Abuja, signaling a new phase in his professional career after decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force.
The event drew tributes from colleagues and associates, including former Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who described Mba as a mentor and an exceptional professional whose impact on his career remains significant.
In a tribute, Adejobi referred to Mba as “the Covenant Child,” saying the name reflects a life and career that have earned the admiration of those close to him.
Adejobi recalled that their professional relationship began in 2008 when he was appointed Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, while Mba was serving in the same capacity in Lagos State. He said an early interaction over police uniforms led to a lasting professional relationship, with Mba taking interest in his development as a police officer and public relations practitioner.
Describing Mba, Adejobi said he is humble, disciplined, intelligent and committed to encouraging excellence and professionalism among officers.
Frank Mba rose through the ranks to attain the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police. He served three times as Force Public Relations Officer under former Inspectors General of Police M.D. Abubakar, Mohammed Adamu and Usman Alkali Baba.
His other postings included Commissioner of Police, Border Patrol Force; Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command; Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos; and Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Department of Training and Development before his retirement.
Adejobi said Mba’s influence extended beyond official duties, noting that he mentored many officers. He recalled that Mba recommended him for the position of Force Public Relations Officer during the tenure of the late IGP Usman Alkali Baba and supported him during challenging periods in the job.
“Boss, you impacted a lot in my life and career as a boss and professional colleague. You stood by me firmly when the storm was high and the battle seemed tough,” Adejobi said.
He congratulated Mba on his birthday and the opening of Frank Mba Legal, and also described him as a brilliant alumnus of the Department of Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies, Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies, University of Ibadan.
Adejobi prayed for continued blessings, good health and success for Mba as he begins his new professional engagement.
