UNIMED Congratulates Ondo Governor, Aiyedatiwa, on Best Governor in Education Award

The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his recognition by the Federal Government as the Best Governor in Education in Nigeria.

 

The University described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of the governor’s commitment to educational development, improved school infrastructure, teachers’ welfare and the advancement of learning across the Sunshine State.

 

In a congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIMED, Professor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his dedication to transforming the education sector and creating an enabling environment for academic excellence and youth development.

 

Professor Adejuyigbe said, “This prestigious recognition is a testament to Your Excellency’s commitment to strengthening education as a cornerstone of sustainable development. Your administration’s efforts to improve educational infrastructure, support teachers and enhance learning opportunities deserve commendation.”

 

She added that sustained investment in education was essential to building a knowledgeable, skilled and productive population capable of driving innovation and socioeconomic growth.

 

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the governor’s recognition was particularly significant for Ondo State, where education remains a critical pillar of human capital development and the preparation of future professionals, including those in the health and medical sciences.

 

According to her, the achievement should inspire renewed commitment among stakeholders in government, educational institutions and the private sector to work collaboratively towards improving the quality and accessibility of education.

 

Professor Adejuyigbe further expressed optimism that the recognition would encourage the state government to intensify its efforts towards expanding educational opportunities, promoting research and innovation, and equipping young people with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

 

She congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa on the honour and wished him greater success in his service to Ondo State.

 

UNIMED reaffirmed its commitment to advancing medical and health sciences education, research and community service in support of the state’s development aspirations.
