HFDI Inaugurates Child Protection Network In Isin Local Government 

 

Hope For Family Development Initiative HFDI has inaugurated Child Protection Network In Isin Local Government of Kwara state.

 

The Child Protection Network situated in Oke Onigbin community of Isin local government, was launched in response to the growing incidence of child abuse and gender-based violence (GBV), which often go unreported in the area.

 

Prior to the inauguration, Twenty-Seven community leaders were sensitized and educated on issues surrounding child abuse, harassment, exploitation, and gender-based violence.

 

The session served as a platform to secure the commitment of local government and community leaders to take collective action in protecting children and vulnerable individuals within their areas.

At the inauguration, the Executive Director of HFDI, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele charged the committee members with the responsibility to condemn and report all forms of abuse, harassment, and violence against women and children.

 

He emphasized that such incidents must not be concealed within the community and assured the committee of the support of relevant state actors., while also announcing that another training and capacity-building workshops would soon be organized to strengthen their efforts.

 

The newly inaugurated committee expressed deep appreciation to HFDI for its timely intervention, describing the initiative as both appropriate and critical in addressing the current realities faced by the community.
