The Osun State Government has called on members of the public to submit memoranda to the Standing Commission of Inquiry on Disturbance of Public Peace in the state as part of efforts to investigate complaints and allegations relating to breaches of public peace.

According to a public notice issued by the Secretary to the Commission, Philips O. Afolayan, Esq., the Commission is inviting victims and other interested persons to submit complaints, reports, or allegations concerning acts or attempted acts of violence, terrorism, hooliganism, civil disturbances, and other incidents capable of disrupting public peace in Osun State.

The notice stated that every memorandum must not exceed 1,500 words and should be clearly typed. It must include an introduction of the subject matter, statement of facts, issues for determination, arguments in support of the issues raised, and the reliefs or prayers sought.

The Commission further directed that all memoranda should contain the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and signatures of the writers. Five hard copies are to be submitted between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, within 14 days from the date of publication.

Submissions should be addressed to the Office of the Secretary, Standing Commission of Inquiry on Disturbance of Public Peace, C/o Room E7, Ministry of Justice, State Government Secretariat, Osogbo.

In addition to the hard copies, contributors are required to send a soft copy in PDF format via email to philipsnewday@gmail.com.

Afolayan urged members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity to present relevant information that would assist the Commission in carrying out its assignment.
