Osun Govt. Set to Reinvigorate O-TRAM for Optimal Performance

In line with best global practices, Osun State government is set to reinvigorate the State Traffic Marshal (O-TRAM) to enable officers of the unit perform optimally.

 

To this end, the State Government will, on Thursday change the face of O-TRAM including their uniforms and logistics.

 

Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo.

 

While stressing that the State government is making efforts to revamp the transportation sector, Hon. Oyedele said under the new arrangement, men and officers of O-TRAM will undergo training and retraining to enable them, to be abreast of happenings and how to carry out their duties with intent and purpose.

 

He advised O-TRAM Officers to be alive to their responsibilities and be civil with members of the public while discharging their duties.

 

In the same vain, the Director, Transport Operations at the Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Ayodeji Waheed Oyewole who noted that the traffic marshals have been around for a while, explained that government has decided to add value to them so as to perform their tasks better.

 

He reiterated the determination of Adeleke led administration to upgrade them and make them compete efficiently with counterparts in other States of the federation.

 

According to him, “there is the need for us to improve our traffic marshals, we need to improve their mentality and their physical appearance which is the reason for the change of the uniforms.

 

“We will continue to add value to them all round, I want to assure you that we will continue to train and retrain them, it is a total rebranding and it will be continuous”. Engr. Ayodeji stated.
