ADEOTI LOYALISTS REAFFIRM LOYALTY TO ACCORD PARTY, BACK ADELEKE’S RE-ELECTION BID AHEAD OF AUG 15

Supporters of Alhaji Moshood Adeoti under the Accord Party have reaffirmed their loyalty to both the party and Governor Ademola Adeleke, declaring that recent defections will not affect their numerical strength ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.

 

This was contained in a communiqué issued on Tuesday at the end of a meeting of Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and his loyalists from all 30 local government areas and Modakeke Area Office. The meeting was held at Adeoti’s residence in Iwo to review political developments in the state.

 

The group resolved to remain “an integral part of the Accord Party at all levels” and pledged continued support for the party’s success in the fast-approaching governorship election and future polls.

 

“That the party should continue engaging stakeholders and members towards effective mobilization for the success of Accord Party in the fast-approaching August 15 governorship election,” the communiqué stated.

 

Addressing the defection of a notable member to another party, the group said it was a personal decision that “does not in any way affect the numerical integrity of our group.”

 

“We wish to reiterate that he acted on his own wish without consultation with any member of our group,” the loyalists added.

 

They also declared full backing for Alhaji Moshood Adeoti “in his quest to ensure that our group is not short-changed in the sharing of elective positions and appointments.”

 

The meeting passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, citing “numerous developmental projects across the state.”

 

According to the communiqué was signed by Comrade Biodun Agboola on behalf of the group, they further resolved to remain committed to the re-election of “the people’s governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for a second term in office.”

 

Members were directed to intensify mobilization and sensitization of voters on the need to vote Accord Party in future elections.

 

INEC has fixed Saturday, August 15, 2026 for the Osun governorship election. Campaigns begin March 11, 2026 under the watch of new REC Barr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola.
