Osun State Government has thrown its weight behind the Osun State Transport Management System(OSTMS) headed by Comrade Wakil Nurudeen Alowonle, as the recognised body to manage motor parks in the State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Saturday.

Hon. Oyedele in the statement said rumours has reached the ears of government that another group different from the OSTMS are planning to dislodge the present management and cause mayhem in the State, stressing that Senator Ademola Adeleke does not recognise any other group.

The Commissioner stated further that the Ademola Adeleke administration decided to create the Osun State Transport Management System(OSTMS) to bring sanity to the sector and improve revenue generation which has started yielding fruits.

The statement reads in parts, “This is to inform the general public particularly commercial vehicle drivers in Osun State, that the only recognised body/group approved by government to oversee the activities of motor parks and commercial drivers in Osun State still remains the Osun State Transport Management System(OSTMS) headed by Comrade Wakil Nurudeen Alowonle, A.K.A, OLA MUMMY.

“No other association or body has been given the permission to take over from the OSTMS. The State government hereby warns any other association or group to desist from plans to take over from the Osun State Transport Management System (OSTMS) or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

“There must not be any gatherings or meetings that has to do with transportation business in this state without the order of the state government through Comrade Wakil Nurudeen Alowonle.

“Anybody or group attempting to disrupt the peace that exists in the Osun State Transport Sector will be severely dealt with as government will not fold its arms to and allow some unscrupulous individuals to disrupt the peace and progress that the State is witnessing under Senator Ademola Adeleke”. Oyedele stated.
