Osun State to Distribute Essential Drugs to Health Centres

By Ope Bello,

The Osun State Primary Healthcare Department Board in conjunction with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency has announced plans to distribute essential drugs and medical equipment procured by Governor Ademola Adeleke Demola to 332 Primary Health Centres across the State.

This initiative aims to enhance access to quality healthcare for residents, in line with the vision of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Shina Igbalaye, stated that the distribution of drugs is part of a broader strategy to promote health and well-being among the citizens of Osun State.

The initiative will ensure that primary health care centres are well-stocked with crucial medications, including antimalarials, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, haematinics, antibiotics, antacids, and analgesics.

Dr. Igbalaye emphasized the importance of these medications in preventing and treating common health issues faced by the community.

He urged residents to take advantage of the services provided by government health centres and to seek medical attention whenever they experience any health symptoms.

“This distribution is a significant step towards improving health services in Osun State,” Dr. Igbalaye stated. “We encourage all residents to visit their nearest health centres for any health concerns. Your health is our priority.”

The distribution is set to begin shortly, with the Board ensuring that all health centres are adequately equipped to serve the population effectively.

As the state government continues to prioritize healthcare, this initiative marks a pivotal move towards better health outcomes for all Osun residents.
