Osun Council of Obas Appeal to Federal Government to fix Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Express Road

The members of the Osun State Council of Obas at their monthly statutory meeting under the Chairmanship of His Imperial Majesty the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi have appealed to the Federal Government to fix the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Express Road

 

In a communique issued at the end of their monthly meeting at the Council chambers in Osogbo, they described Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Express Road as a death trap to motorists.

 

The Council noted that the road is one of the major Federal Government roads in the South West which links some of the States together.

 

They therefore appealed to the Federal Government under the able leadership of President Bola Tinubu to quickly intervene and fix the important road.

In the same vein, the Senior Special Assistant to Mr Governor on Nomadic Affairs, Hon. Adebisi Maruf Abiodun has assured the Traditional Rulers in the State of the efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke to put an end to the crisis between the Fulani Herders and Farmers in the State.

 

He said this while using the opportunity of the Council’s monthly meeting to familiarize with traditional rulers in the State in order to know area of their concern.

 

He explained the strategies put in place by the Governor Ademola Adeleke led administration, to end the clashes between Fulani Herders and the farmers in the State.

 

In their response, the Osun Council of Obas sought for mutual collaboration between the Fulani Herders and the farmers in the State.

 

The Osun Council of Obas also sought for Laws to guide the operations of Fulani Herders and the farmers in the State

 

They emphasized that with the laws and intervention of the State Government the havoc caused by Fulani Herdsmen to the farmlands will reduce.
