Community Health: HFDI Joins WDC Stakeholders in Ogele, Asa LGA to Strengthen Collaboration

Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI) participated in the monthly Ward Development Committee (WDC) meeting held at Ogele Primary Health Care Centre in Asa Local Government Area, Ilorin.

The meeting brought together the Officer-in-Charge of the facility and stakeholders representing communities across Ogele Ward.

Representatives of Hope for Family Development Initiatives attended the community health meeting to review progress on ongoing health interventions, listen to challenges raised by community stakeholders, and collaborate on practical solutions.

During the discussions, the WDC Chairman Hon. Amosa highlighted key challenges, including traditional home service practices and cultural barriers affecting access to health care.

Participants collectively discussed the concerns and identified strategies to address them. One of the resolutions was to regularly invite the traditional home service focal person to WDC meetings to improve coordination and referral of community members to the health facility for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services.

At the close of the meeting, Hon. Amosa commended HFDI for its consistent support and pledged to work with all stakeholders to resolve the identified challenges and improve health service uptake in the ward.

HFDI said the engagement sponsored by  Jhpiego, a global non-profit health organisation, aligns with its commitment to strengthening community-led health systems and promoting access to youth-friendly and inclusive health services.
