●SAYS I WON’T SUCCUMB TO BLACKMAIL ON OSUN INFRA UPGRADE..
Amidst dancing and singing among Otan Ayegbaju and Iresi people of Boluwaduro local government of Osun Central, Governor Ademola Adeleke commissioned the intercity road between the two towns, breaking a 44 years’ jinx of abandonment.
In a day of circular movement around the three senatorial districts, Governor Adeleke at Odeomu said Osun’s soft and hard infrastructure are his focus while at Ilesa, he told defectors that his administration is committed to equitable development of all parts of the state.
Accompanied by top government and party officials including Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, the Governor said his team is pushing ahead with all round development of Osun state despite attempted blackmail by the opposition which is promoting ethnic division among the people.
Addressing hundreds of Otan Ayegbaju, Iresi and Igbajo people, royal fathers and leaders who stayed up late into the evening waiting to receive him, the Governor said the commissioning of Iresi-Otan Ayegbaju inter city road “was a continuation of our midterm anniversary which he said will continue till next week.
According to the Governor, “Yesterday, I launched the Imole Agropreneur Project, to achieve food security, wealth creation and employment generation. This morning I commissioned the Cooperative College, Ode Omu which was abandoned for 12 years.
“Today, we are here to open for public use, an historic road that has been in a state of disrepair since the second republic. For the past 44 years, this road has remained unattended to.
“I thank God that today our administration has broken the jinx of four decades. We have delivered on our promise to ensure productive connectivity between and among our people. I congratulate the people of Iresi and Otan Ayegbaju on this significant milestone.
“We are opening today a total of 7.5 kilometers of road. This includes three kilometers Iresi township roads and the 4.5 kilometers Otan Ayegbaju-Iresi road”, the Governor noted.
Using the platform to address recent development regarding his administration’s infrastructure plan across the sectors, the Governor said “our delivery of good governance is not dictated by ethnic or religious considerations.
“We treat all towns and cities as our constituency without fear or favour. As a Senator and now as a Governor, I am an agent of development for all our people.
“Our administration is opposed to politicisation of development. Politics must be an instrument of development, not a tool to divide and retard the progress of our people. Developmental politics is and should be at the heart of development.
“Our administration is determined to press ahead with infrastructure upgrades of Osun state across all sectors. We will not succumb to political blackmail from those who failed our people for decades. We will continue to revive projects they abandoned for several years.
“As for me and my team, we will deploy state resources to build our roads, airports, water systems, schools, hospitals as well as attending to the social and soft Infrastructure needs of our people. Our government will not relent to create and recreate facilities to ease and enhance the economic and social life of Osun people.
“If they are limited in their vision of the future of Osun state, our administration is a big thinker, an ambitious leadership and a forward looking regime that sees no limitation to the greatness Osun can achieve as a state.
“That is the spirit behind the five point agenda; that is the motivation for our incredible performance in the last two years”, the Governor noted in his speech.
