ACOMIN Trains CSOs On National Operational Modalities CLM Plan, Reiterates Commitment To TB, HIV/AIDs And Malaria Prevention

Accountability of Civil Society Organisations on Malaria Immunisation and Control ACOMIN has reiterated its commitment on health delivery service on Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDs prevention in Osun state.

 

This is as the organisation conducted a step down training on operation modalities of the community-led monitoring plan in tandem with the national programme, across 36 states and FCT.

 

At the workshop which held at GMT Conference hall Osogbo, the Executive Director HFDI, who doubles as the ACOMIN state Chairman, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen welcomed the participants to the 2-day step-down training for networks of CBOs working on Malaria, TB, and HIV/AIDS in Osun State – ACOMIN, NEPWHAN, and the TB Network Nigeria, on the operational modalities of the National Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) Plan across the 36 states and the FCT.

 

He maintained that the training focused on examining the national frameworks for community system strengthening and community-led monitoring, and on validating the document for adoption in Osun State.

 

He also added that health service support delivery carried out by CBOs needs improvement, particularly on stakeholders and community participation, adding that all hands must be on deck to implement effectively the objective of ACOMIN.

Pointing out the appreciated support from the state government and partners, Dr Aremu stated that there are gaps to be filled to achieve enhanced services which will birth commendable feedback.

 

In his session he highlighted the Community System Strengthening framework, the Community-Led Monitoring framework, CLM data flow, validation and use in decision-making, operational modalities of the national CLM plan, resource mobilization and sustainability of CLM activities, and the qualitative and quantitative indicators of CLM, and the CBOs in their various analysis identified other areas, which can boost the ACOMIN national plan objectives.

 

In his goodwill message, the State Manager Malaria Elimination from the Ministry of Health, Dr Olufemi Oroge lauded Osun ACOMIN for its consistent passion and health service delivery to the good people of the state

He added that ACOMIN is recognised by the government for its landmark achievements, and also pledged continuous support on behalf of the government.

 

Also in attendance was the Executive Secretary of the Osun State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Dr. Olusegun Daramola; the coordinator and representative of the TB Network; and representatives of ACOMIN in the state, among others.

 

In his remarks, the State Program Officer, David Amoto thanked the participating networks for demonstrating a strong commitment to adopting the CLM guide at the state level once validated, while he emphasised the importance of community involvement and resource mobilization – even at the grassroots.

 

The training provided an in-depth exposition of the national CLM plan, with each network contributing feedback and suggestions for local adoption through breakout sessions and group presentations.
