Sallah: Salam doles out cash gifts, food items to religious leaders, pensioners, party leaders, others
the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir festival, Rep Bamidele Salam has gifted out over twenty five million Naira to Religion leaders, Pensioners, traditional rulers and community leaders in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Governments of Osun State
Today, the Hon. member visited the association of pensioners and elderly citizens in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun, presenting them cash gift of Five Million Naira for the sallah celebrations.
The lawmaker also gave out 20 bags of rice to the retirees with a view to making this year’s sallah festivities a memorable one.
Presenting the cash gifts and the food items, Rep Bamidele Salam commended the pensioners for their roles in shaping the polity, declaring that they deserve all the care representative of people like him could offer
According to him, gestures, as was able to extend to them at this time, must not always be motivated by elections or political exegesis but purely on humanitarian grounds as enshrined in the teachings of this season.
While expressing gratitude to the pensioners for their unalloyed support for the administration of His Excellency, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke before and after his assumption of office as Governor Osun State, the chairman, Public Account Committee of the House of Representatives assured that welfare of pensioners will continue to be top of his priorities, in line with the good examples of the State Governor.
Aside the pensioners, traditional rulers, community and PDP leaders in all the electoral wards in his federal constituency, Rep Bamidele Salam had earlier extended similar gesture of cash gifts to all the 30 PDP local government chairmen, all PDP State Officers as well as key leaders of the party in the state.
He then congratulated Muslim ummah in Osun State and especially in his federal constituency on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to adhere to the tenets of love, sacrifice and unmeasured compassion.
“I also urge our clerics to continue to raise supplications to Almighty Allah on behalf of leaders of all stratas in the country, for the required wisdom, strength and the will to better the lot of the country”, Rep Bamidele Salam stated.
In their various responses to the gesture of the federal lawmaker, the Pensioners and community leaders described Rep. Salam is an exceptional politician who is always driven by selfless service in his activities.
They expressed gratitude at the regular support in terms of free medical outreaches, festive support, and proactive interventions on matters affecting pensioners and senior citizens in the federal constitution.
The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts was accompanied on today’s visit by members of the Osun State House of Assembly from Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Governments, Local Government Chairmen and other leaders of the PDP from the four local governments.
