OSSCE, Ila-Orangun Denies Allegation of Funding Adeleke’s Re-Election Campaign, Calls Report “Falsehood”

The management of Osun State College of Education, OSSCE, Ila-Orangun has dismissed as false and defamatory a publication alleging that the institution provided funds to support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign.
In a statement issued by the College Management, it described the claim as “a blatant lie and falsehood from the pit of hell” orchestrated by disgruntled elements to smear the institution’s reputation.
The College stated that OSSCE, Ila-Orangun is an Academic Institution, Not a Political Organ; a teacher-training institution with the mandate to produce teachers and administrators through efficient management and academic excellence.
“The institution is neither a financial institution nor any organ of party politics. Our motto is ‘Academic and Moral Excellence,’” the statement read.
OSSCE, Ila-Orangun Management said the College under the able and dynamic leadership of the sitting Provost, Comrade Dr. Lasisi A. JIMOH, would not allow anyone to drag its name into partisan politics, stressing that such activities are not part of the institution’s mandate.
On Alleged Crisis and Leadership Tussle: the College also refuted claims that it is “ridden with crisis”, and that the incumbent Provost had been sacked by a court.
According to the management, the academic calendar has been stable and the institution has been operating in a peaceful atmosphere since Dr. Jimoh assumed office.
On the court matter, the College clarified that the former Provost, Prof. J. A. Afolabi, who was disengaged by government, instituted litigation against the government, the processes of which have not been finalised. “No court sacked the incumbent Provost”, the statement emphasised.
The management thereby urged members of the public and law enforcement agencies to disregard the publication describing it as *“junk journalism”* aimed at causing unnecessary pandemonium and institutional collapse.
“The entire public is hereby enjoined to disregard the false claim. It is all about rumour and display of hatred by disgruntled elements,” the College added.
The management reaffirmed its commitment to academic activities and called on stakeholders to support efforts to maintain peace and stability at OSSCE, Ila-Orangun and its entire community.
