OFFICIAL REJOINDER, RE: “OSSCE ILA-ORANGUN ALLEGEDLY PROVIDES FUNDS TO SUPPORT ADELEKE’S RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

*OFFICIAL REJOINDER*

*RE: “OSSCE ILA-ORANGUN ALLEGEDLY PROVIDES FUNDS TO SUPPORT ADELEKE’S RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN”*

_….as published on the website of Devine Image Media…._

*From: The Management*

*Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun*

*Date: 14th August 2026*

The attention of the Management of Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun has been drawn to a malicious, defamatory and entirely false publication on the website of Devine Image Media alleging that the College “provides funds to support the re-election campaign of Governor Ademola Adeleke.”

We state unequivocally that *the allegation is a blatant lie, a fabrication, and a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the College, its leadership, and staff.*

*OUR POSITION AND FACTS:*

*1. On the Allegation of Financial Misappropriation*

The Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun is a public tertiary institution governed by the laws of Osun State and Financial Regulations.

All financial transactions of the College are processed through the TSA, duly approved, receipted, and subject to regular monitoring of the appropriate agency of government before final approval.

*No funds belonging to the College have been diverted, moved, or used to support any political party, candidate, or election campaign.* The claim of “large scale movement of millions of naira” is false and without any iota of evidence.

*2. On the Allegation of “Skeletal Academic Program to Dish Out Money”*

This is a deliberate misrepresentation. The College is currently preparing for a scheduled *Accreditation Exercise by the National Commission for Colleges of Education, NCCE, and other relevant bodies.

Accreditation is a statutory, academic requirement and not a “skeletal program.” All expenses related to it are budgeted, approved, and accounted for. To link a legitimate academic exercise to politics is mischievous and intended to distract the College at a critical time.

*3. On the College’s Political Neutrality*

As an institution of learning, OSSCE Ila-Orangun remains *strictly apolitical*.

Our mandate is teaching, learning, research and community service.

The Provost, Management, and Staff are public servants and are bound by the Public Service Rules which prohibit the use of public resources for partisan politics.

The College neither belongs to any political party nor engages in election funding.

*4. On Attempt to Cause Disunity*

We view this publication as an attempt by detractors to cause disaffection, destabilise the College ahead of accreditation, and blackmail the Management. The timing, just before the Osun Gubernatorial Election of Saturday, 15th August 2026, confirms the political motive behind the falsehood.

*OUR DEMAND:*

1. We call on the publisher devineimagemedia.com to *immediately retract* the false publication and tender an unreserved apology.

2. We urge security agencies and relevant anti-graft bodies to *investigate the source* of this petition and those sponsoring it.

3. We advise members of the public, parents, students and stakeholders to *disregard the publication* in its entirety.

The Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun remains committed to academic excellence, transparency, and accountability under the able and dynamic leadership of *Dr. Lasisi A. JIMOH*.
