The Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI, Kwara Team, in collaboration with Monitoring and Evaluation officers from all Primary Health Care, PHC, centres in Moro Local Government Area, took a bold step to integrate Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, SRHR, data validation into the monthly disease surveillance data validation meeting at the local government level.

The meeting, held at SHAO PHCs in Moro LGA, brought together participants to validate data on both SRHR and Communicable Diseases, CD.

The initiative aimed to assess performance, identify gaps, and develop clear strategies to increase community awareness and improve service uptake for SRHR and communicable diseases across facilities in Moro.

HFDI as the implementing partner of the project funded by JHPIEGO on SRHR/CD in Kwara State reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to continuously support selected PHCs in Moro LGA to ensure the successful implementation of integrated health interventions.

SRHR data validation was effectively incorporated into the existing monthly disease surveillance review platform, creating a unified approach to health data management, and Joint review and cross-checking enhanced the reliability and credibility of health data across facilities.

The meeting produced clear, community-focused strategies to boost awareness and increase service utilization for both SRHR and communicable diseases.

Stakeholders described the exercise as a strategic step toward strengthening health systems at the grassroots and ensuring that data drives better health outcomes for women, girls, and communities in Moro LGA.
