Osun NIPR Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Tree Planting and Walk to live
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Osun State Chapter marked its 60th anniversary with a series of significant events aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and community health.
The Chairman, Council member, fellows, and other esteemed members of the Osun State Chapter of NIPR, along with the Commissioner for Environment, Honourable Mayowa Adejoorin, the Director of Forestry, and other staff from the Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, participated in a “Walk to Live” from the State Secretariat to Aregbe Junction. This event was organized to emphasize the importance of physical health and community engagement.
The walk culminated in a tree planting ceremony where 60 trees were planted to symbolize the 60th anniversary of NIPR. The tree planting was officially flagged off by Honourable Mayowa Adejoorin.
“I commend your remarkable initiative of planting 60 trees to celebrate your 60th anniversary. This effort aligns perfectly with our state’s commitment to environmental sustainability, as envisioned by our Governor.”
“Your proactive approach in partnering with the Ministry of Environment to enhance our green spaces is highly commendable. This tree planting exercise is not just a symbolic act but a significant contribution to our collective goal of preventing erosion, conserving our natural resources, and fostering a healthier environment for all.”
“We, too, have prioritized environmental sustainability in our plans, and your efforts are a crucial step towards fulfilling these goals. Your dedication and collaboration exemplify the spirit of community and professional responsibility that we all strive for.”
Following this, the Chairman of NIPR Osun State Chapter, along with Council member, fellows, and other chapter members, took part in the planting activities.
The Osun NIPR Chairman, Mr. Ademola Adesoji, appreciated everyone for participating in the walk. He said, “I specially appreciate Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Honourable Mayowa Adejoorin, Directors, and other esteemed personnel here present for honoring our invitation to participate in this exercise.”
“The chosen location for the tree planting was selected to complement the government’s efforts in preventing erosion and preserving the environment. This initiative highlights the NIPR’s commitment to contributing positively to the community and supporting environmental conservation efforts.”
“These 60 seedlings represent 60 years of professional service, controlling narratives, and elevating public relations at national and global levels. It is our belief that these seedlings will be the precursors to what will become a beautiful NIPR Green Garden in the not too distant future,” Mr Ademola Adesoji remarked.
This anniversary celebration not only marks a significant milestone for the NIPR but also reinforces the importance of health, environmental sustainability, and community involvement.
