OSCOTECH Alumni President Inaugurates Business Administration And Management Association OBAMAA

… As Rector charges the body on synergy, development and not politicizing the association…

The Alumni President of Osun State College of Technology OSCOTECH EsaOke, Hon Adewale Afolabi has inaugurated graduates of Business Administration and Management Alumni Association, OBAMAA into the national body.

 

This is as the Rector of the institution Dr S.A.O Adegoke charged the Alumni body on the need for synergy that will aide development of the members of the association, and the Alma Mata.

 

At the inauguration which held at Ranroy event center in Osogbo, themed: “Essence of Reunion After Graduation,” Hon Afolabi highlighted the objectives, vision and mission of the association to the department alumni who were newly inaugurated into the national body of the Alumni.

 

He hinged on the importance of giving back to the citadel of learning, which had impacted the lives of the graduated students academically, adding that OSCOTECH Alumni has various chapters in states of Nigeria and in diaspora.

 

Afolabi also asserted that the Alumni Alma Mata, OSCOTECH is blessed with notable graduates in walks of life, who are doing well, and he urged the OBAMAA departments of the Alumni to join the state chapter of their domicile places across the country.

 

Stating that OSCOTECH Alumni is being rebranded under his administration, he lauded the various committees put in place to contribute to the growth of the association, and charged the group who also held their first reunion program to join the moving train of the great OSCOTECH Alumni association.

 

In his address, the OSCOTECH Rector who was represented by the Dean Student Affairs, Mr Adewunmi stated that Alumni Association is in vogue, as a body that supports the institution management for the purpose of development.

 

He urged members of the OSCOTECH Alumni association not to politicize the body, so that the aims and objectives of the group will not be defeated, and he demanded that all departmental alumni of the various faculty must fuse into the national body of the association.

 

In his lecture delivered on the theme of the reunion program, the Director, OSCOTECH Ventures, Oludele Asabi PhD, maintained that the reunion of Alumnus after graduation is a time-honored tradition, a sacred opportunity to reconnect with the past, reflect on the journey and envision the future that lies ahead.

 

He asserted that reunion and Alumni, is a testament to bonds forged, through the Alma Mata which holds special place in its students lives, adding that “beyond the academics, we have a responsibility to ourselves and the future generations to ensure that the values and ideals instilled in us endure.”

 

Dr Asabi charged the Alumni Excos to lead by example, to be advocates of education, equality and social justice, and reaffirm commitment to values, while also rededicate to principles of excellence, integrity and service.

 

In his remarks, the Business Administration Head of Department, James Odumeru PhD, urged the inaugurated association to ensure it becomes the best among departments in the institution, and that it should team up and work successfully with the national body of the OSCOTECH Alumni association.

 

The convener of the program, Kolade Akinpelu in his welcome remarks appreciated the participants for gracing the occasion which he described as a dream come through after so many efforts, and he urged the Alumni members to leverage of the importance and benefits of being part of the alumni association.

 

Members of the entourage of the OSCOTECH National Alumni President include, Vice President South, Comrade Funso Adeyemi, the National Treasurer Olajumoke Ogundele and former National PRO of the association, who is also the state Chairperson of Women Journalists in Osun, Comrade Abisola Ariwodola, among others.
