No protest in Esa Oke, says Governing Council Chairman, Odeyemi

The Governing Council of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, has described as ‘erroneous’ a report purporting that a protest was held against the appointment of an Acting Rector for the institution.

 

A statement by the Chairman of the Council Prince Diran Odeyemi, said the appointment of the acting Rector was done in line with the law that established the institution and warned against act that can create panic and jeopardize the public peace.

 

According to him, the untrue report of a planned protest will be investigated, adding that those involved will be unmasked and presented to the law enforcement agents for further actions.

 

He subsequently urged the media to always verify properly claims before they go to press with it, so as not to become victim of enemies of progress that may want to use them to achieve selfish ends.

 

He further warned members of staff of the institution to refrain from being drawn into actions that negate rules of their engagement, as anyone found to be acting against the rules will face appropriate sanction no matter how highly placed.

 

Assuring members of the academic community, the host community, parents, guardians, as well as, students of an environment good enough for excellent academic activities, Odeyemi restated the commitment of the institution to assisting the the state governor, Senator Ademola Jackson-Nurudeen Adeleke, achieving his vision for the polytechnic, having shown the desire to uphold high academic standard that would be envy of others.
