Taiwo Kekere-Ekun’s demise: Governor Adeleke pays condolence visit to Fresh FM Radio management, family

Following the untimely death of a popular Osun based broadcast- journalist, Comrade Taiwo Kekere-Ekun, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has paid a condolence visit to Fresh FM, Osogbo and the family of the deceased in Ilesa.

 

Speaking, Governor Adeleke who was represented by the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi described the death of the late ace broadcast journalist, Taiwo Kekere-Ekun as a rude shock adding that, it is very difficult to believe.

 

He described the deceased as a very hard-working, dutiful, dedicated and vibrant journalist who was very passionate about her job while alive, stressing that, she died at a time when her services were most needed.

 

Alimi stated “On behalf of the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, I am here to officially commiserate with the management and staff of Fresh FM, Osogbo, over the shocking and unbelievable demise of one of your ace broadcast journalists, Comrade Taiwo Kekere Ekun.

 

Although, Government has made a release through the spokesperson to the Governor, he also specifically directed that, I should lead a delegation to Fresh FM, Osogbo and her family in Ilesa, to officially sympathize with the management of the radio station and her family.

 

“We pray that this kind of death of our shining stars will not happen again and we also pray that the lord will give her family and Fresh FM, Osogbo, the fortitude to beer the irreplaceable loss.

 

“We equally want to urge Fresh FM family to try as much as possible to sustain all programmes she used to anchor while alive, most especially, the Yoruba educative and enlightening programme, “Kekere Akin”- concluded Alimi on behalf of Senator Adeleke.

Responding, the General Manager, Fresh FM, Osogbo, Mr Akinkunmi Alabi, appreciated Governor Adeleke for sympathising with the radio station despite an earlier condolence message sent to the station by the Governor.

 

He noted that the vacuum left by the deceased will be very difficult to fill.

 

The GM who received Osun state government delegation together with the Head of Operation of the station, Hon.Olusola Ajala, stressed further that the family will soon make her burial arrangement known to the public.

 

In the same vein, Oluomo Alimi thereafter led Osun State Government team to Ilo-Elefo Community in Ilesa to sympathize with the aged parents of the deceased.

 

The father of the deceased, Chief J.O Kekere-Ekun appreciated Osun Government for identifying with the family at this trying moment.

 

On the entourage of Oluomo Alimi to both Fresh FM Osogbo and Ilesa were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Mr Eniola Odeniyi, Director Administration and Supply of the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Waheed Daramola, and Director Press and Public Relations, Mr Moshood Suleiman, as well as Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs Toyin Adeoye among others.

 

It would be recalled that Comrade Taiwo Kekere-Ekun gave up the ghost on Monday, June 24, 2024 after a brief illness.
