HFDI Strengthens Healthcare Collaboration with Advocacy Visit to Etinan General Hospital

Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI, Akwa Ibom State has conducted an advocacy engagement with Treatment Partners, and ECWS, at General Hospital Etinan as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and community-based interventions for vulnerable populations in Akwa Ibom.
The Advocacy visit which was a THRIVE project was aimed to deepen partnership with hospital management, address key programmatic issues, and improve coordination in the delivery of health and nutrition services at the facility level.
During the engagement, the HFDI program team presented ongoing interventions including community mobilization and sensitization, follow-up and home visits, and HIV/AIDS prevention and care services.
Extensive discussions were held on strengthening referral pathways and feedback mechanisms between healthcare workers and community volunteers.
The Stakeholders agreed on strategies to ensure proper documentation, timely referrals, and continuity of care for beneficiaries.
Treatment partners at the hospital acknowledged Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI’s contributions and commended the organization’s consistent support for community health systems.
They expressed commitment to strengthening collaboration for improved service delivery.
According to HFDI, the advocacy visit yielded three key outcomes, strengthened partnership and communication among HFDI, ECWS, hospital management, and community volunteers, improved understanding of referral processes to reduce delays and loss to follow-up, and identified practical strategies to enhance service delivery and beneficiary tracking within the community.
The HFDI team maintained that the engagement provided an important platform for dialogue, partnership building, and collaborative planning toward better healthcare outcomes in Etinan and surrounding communities.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to working with health facilities, treatment partners, and community structures to ensure no one is left behind in accessing quality health and nutrition services.
