The Provost, Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem has described children as the pride and future of Nigeria, asking then to be focused on their education and grow into responsible individuals.

The Provost stated this while speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the year 2025 Children’s day party organised by the 22 Support Engineer Regiment, Ibodi- Ijesha held at their parade ground.

The Provost while advising the children to be focused on their education, charged parents to train their children with the fear of God and continue to see them as the future of the nation while instilling in them good morals.

He assured them that the present administration in the State will continue to see that children who are the future of the nation get the best in terms of quality education, stressing that their future remains paramount to the present government.

While commending the 22 Support Engineer Regiment, Ibodi-Ijesha for organising the event, the Provost called on other stakeholders to join government in moving the education sector forward as government can not do it alone.

He called on other bodies in the society to organise children’s day party for children as a way of putting smiles on the faces of the future generation.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Commanding Officer, 22 Support Engineer Regiment, Ibodi-Ijesha, Lt. Col. Aikhere Jonathan Aigbhokan said the aim of organising the party is to put smiles on the faces of the children.

He urged parents to strive to instil in children good morals and discipline which will make them grow into responsible adults in future.

Highpoint of the programme was the conferment of an award of excellence on the Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem for his contribution to the education sector.

The party which had hundreds of children in attendance featured various games which include: dance competition, spoon and egg dash, dance around chair and among others.
