Shun Cultism and Other Social Vices – OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa Provost, Dr Raheem Urge Matriculating Students

The Provost of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem has urged students of the institution, especially the newly matriculated students to shun cultism and other social vices so as to do well in their studies.

 

The Provost stated this at the matriculation ceremony for students who got admitted into the College for the 2025/2026 academic session.

 

He assured the students that the College will continue to provide a conducive learning environment, while admonishing them to attend lectures, partake in their practicals and clinical sessions regularly.

Dr Raheem maintained that the institution will continue to offer numerous opportunities for growth, academic and professional development, just as he encouraged them to participate in academic clubs, professional associations, health outreach programmes as well as community development initiatives.

 

In his words, “Dear matriculating students, as you sign the matriculation register today, remember that you are writing the first chapter of a new academic journey. Work hard, stay focused and let integrity be your guiding principle”. He stated.

 

Deputy Provost of the College, Mrs Margaret Oparinde while congratulating the students and their parents assured that the institution will continue to work towards academic excellence and remain the best health training institution around.

 

The Registrar of the institution, Mr Moshood Afolabi while administering the oath of matriculation on the students through the Heads of various Departments, encouraged them to stay focused and dedicated at all times.

 

In his own remarks, the Dean Students Affairs, Mr Olayemi Rasaq Bello admonished the new students to be well behaved in their neighbourhood and maintain a healthy relationship with their landlords and landladies wherever they find themselves in the town.

 

Some departments which students were matriculated includes: Pharmacy, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Medical Imaging and Xray, Public Health, Community Health, Dispensing Opticianry, Environmental Technology, Dental Therapy among others.
