Revenue Generation/Entrepreneurship: OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa Commissions Modern Car Wash Center

In an effort to improve revenue generation and fulfil the entrepreneurship mandate given to tertiary institutions in Nigeria, a modern Car Wash Center has been commissioned at the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa.
The project constructed by the College aims to among other things improve the revenue generation drive of the College as well as engage students in entrepreneurial skills as enshrined in the education curriculum for tertiary institutions in the country.
Speaking at a mini commissioning programme of the project, the Board Chairman of the institution, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke commended the College management led by the Provost, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem for thinking “out of the box” in a bid to improve revenue generation as well impacting entrepreneurial skills in the students.
He eulogised the school management for accepting the fact that government alone can not run the College, but with the support of the institution through funds which can be gotten from such ventures.
Hon. Adegoke explained further that through the car wash project, the College has announced that it is ready to impact the lives of the future generation both in academics and craft training, while also letting the world know that it is a complete citadel of learning.
The Provost of the College, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem while handing over the project to the Chairman for commissioning stressed that the College is determined to continue to produce graduates who are not only academically sound, but can also be self reliant and be employers of labour.
In the words of the College Provost, “At the management level, we aim to achieve two things through this project, the first is to improve our revenue generation, and the second is to build entrepreneurial skills in our students. In our College, we are producing a complete human being who can be self reliant at anytime.
“I use this opportunity to thank our amiable Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for his support towards our College at all times”. Dr Raheem stated.
Speaking during an interview, the Chairman OSCO-HEALTH Venture services, Dr Rasheed Kolawole explained that the College will run the Car Wash center using both professionals from outside and students for the purpose of entrepreneurial development.
Dr Kolawole explained that the students will only be allowed to work at the Car Wash Center during their lecture free periods, stressing that it is for the purpose of impacting entrepreneurial skills in them while also being paid.
