Osun Govt/NGO Empowers Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) with Equipment Worth Over N20m

Speaking as the Mother of the day at the well attended programme, Osun State First Lady, Chief Mrs Titilayo Adeleke congratulated the beneficiaries on their achievements.

 

She stressed that the present administration will continue to put issues relating to PWDs at the front burner because they are an integral part of the society who has the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the economy.

 

The first lady who was represented at the occasion by her Special Assistant, Chief Mrs Adebimpe Omolade urged the beneficiaries to put the materials into good use.

 

In his own address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Needs, Hon. Kamil Aransi who was obviously elated promised that the move is just the beginning of great things to happen to people with special needs in Osun State.

 

He said the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke has a lot of good packages for them which will be unveiled soon and will be for their benefit.

 

In a goodwill message, Royal Father of the day, HRH, Oba Adefemi Mutalib Adelakin, the Alabere of Abere land lauded the efforts of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Hon. Olarewaju Oladosu for his determination to change the fortunes of PWDs in Osun State.

 

He said the training and provision of empowerment materials to the PWDs will go a long way in easing their troubles while urging the State Government to consider PWDs as Councillors in the forthcoming Local Government elections in all the wards.

 

In their separate goodwill messages, the PWDs Desk Officer for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Osun Command, Officer Olaniru Rita and Prof. Olaitan Ademola, President, Ede Descendant Union urged the beneficiaries to put the materials into good use for the benefit of the society at large.

 

Earlier in a welcome address, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Hon. Olarewaju Oladosu said the programme underscores Governor Ademola Adeleke’s, unwavering commitment to holistic disability community development.

 

He noted that the Governor believes that true empowerment transcends mere rhetoric, requiring tangible investments in people’s lives and livelihoods, and urged the beneficiaries to remember that the equipments symbolize not just their achievements but their potential to thrive, excel, and become role models in their communities.
