NLC Women Committee: Ojo Emerges As Chairperson In Osun, Pledges Inclusive And Supportive Administration

Comrade Abosede Comfort Ojo of Nigeria Union of Agric and Allied Employees, NUAAE has emerged as the state Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress Women Committee.
Comrade Mrs Ojo became the Chairperson of the NLC Women wing via an election which produced her and her executives on Wednesday at Civil Service Club in the state capital.
In her acceptance speech, she appreciated the national body of the NLC under the administration of Comrade Joe Ajaero, as well as the state Comrade Abimbola Arapasopo led team, for providing an enabling environment for the female Comrades in the union to thrive on.
She thereby assured all of solidarity, inclusive and supportive administration that will promote harmony and development, while she thanked delegates and members of the union for the confidence reposed in her, and for supporting her ambition.
Mrs Ojo Abosede in the spirit of sportsmanship also appreciated the former acting NLC Women Committee Chairperson, Mrs Dupe Oyedele for job well done.
Earlier in the business session, the NLC National President Comrade Joe Ajaero reiterated the objective of the Congress to protect, defend, and promote the rights, well being and the interests of all workers, pensioners, the trade unions and the working class in general; and also to promote and defend a Nigerian nation that would be just, democratic, transparent and prosperous.
He urged the women committee to brace up and support activities of the Congress while also discharging its activities.
The Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Samuel who was represented at the quadrennium women committee delegate conference assured the labour of the governments support in prioritising workers welfare.
The former state acting Chairperson Comrade Dupe Oyedele also in her reports, highlighted the achievements of the union, particularly in the area of welfarism and assured everyone that she will always use her position to impact lives of women and children.
Comrade Abimbola Arapasopo, the Osun State NLC Chairman, represented by the Vice Chairman urged the women committee wing to always cooperate with each other and ensure smooth operations that will enhance growth and development.
Also at the women committee delegate conference is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Labour, Chief Mrs Mojisola Omisore who applauded the women wing of the Congress for being outstanding in thier endeavours.
Other members of the Comrade Abosede Ojo led women committee of the Osun state NLC include: Olayemi Ganiyat (Vice Chairperson), Atoba Aderonke (Secretary), Odebunmi Eunice (Assistant Secretary), while Risikat Busari and Fagbemiro Alaba are Ex-Officio.
