NAEC Confers Ogun Deputy Governor with Award of Excellence on Engineering Development

The Ota Branch of the Nigeria Association of Engineering Craftsmen, NAEC has conferred Ogun state Deputy Governor, Engr (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele with Award of Excellence on Engineering Development.

 

The association did the decoration, which was approved by the national body at a day program with the number 2 Citizen of the Gateway state, in collaboration with the Southwest and Ota Branch Executives, on Thursday, April, 25, 2024 in her office at the Government Secretariat, Oke-mosan Abeokuta.

 

In his address, the first National Vice President, Engr.(Craft) Mathew Ajayi who represented the National President, Hon. Umar Usman Maikunkele (FNAEC) stated that, “the National Leadership appreciates Her Excellency, for providing an interactive session platform on ways to move NAEC forward.

He stressed that engineering is a profession that everyone must identify with, owing to its relevance to developmental processes, adding that the association is set to foster a symbiosis relationship, to establish itself and spread tentacles of development across the length and breadth of Ogun State.”

 

He added that the courtesy visit was also to consolidate on the existing relationship to further explore possible areas of collaboration with Ogun State Government, and the association solicited for more support from Her Excellency.

 

According to him, “Your Excellency Ma, we are pleased to inform you that the Association at the National level has decided to honor you to the highest heights in NAEC as a FELLOW. The paraphernalia of office and official presentation will be done at our National Conference in Ebonyi State later this year “, Engr.(Craft) Mathew added.

 

In response, the Deputy Governor reaffirmed her support and promised to be a good ambassador of the engineering family while pledging to uphold the noble ideals of the profession and she is readily available to support its activities.

 

While commending the Craftsmen on hard work, she urged them to strategically provide a template that will bring in more female engineers into the body, and assured them that their prayer request will be attended to appropriately.

 

Earlier in his welcome address, Engr.(Craft) Olusesan Idowu Olorunfunmi, Ota Branch,1st Vice Chairman, appreciated the support of the Deputy Governor towards the growth and advancement of engineering practice in Ogun State, and he also used the fora to give kudos to the state government, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, for the achievements recorded by introducing technical and vocational training in Ota Technical Hub- a platform created for the technology advancement and development.

 

The chairman added that the Association leadership Award of Excellence to the Deputy Governor, Engr. (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele is in recognition of Her Excellency’s unwavering commitment and unparalleled support, contributions and undeniable impact to engineering development in Ogun State.

 

Having congratulated her Excellency on bagging the award, he relayed their prayers to the Deputy Governor, who assured them that the prayers will be given attention.

 

Nigeria Association of Engineering Craftsmen, NAEC is a registered body under the canopy for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Established in 1993 as a professional body for Craftsmen Cadre. The membership of NAEC is opened to all Engineering Craftsmen Cadres who have acquired skills and educational training in all aspects of engineering.

 

NAEC was put in place as a watchdog, against the activities of quacks in the practice of engineering in Nigeria.

 

The highlight of the courtesy visit was the National body presentation of the Award of Excellence to Her Excellency.
