Former Osun Accountant-General Laid to Rest in Osogbo

 

Former Osun State Accountant-General, Mr George Adebayo Babatunde has been laid to rest in Osogbo amidst eulogies from friends and former colleagues.

 

The funeral and thanksgiving ceremony which took place at Calvary Baptist Church, Osogbo brought together dignitaries from all walks of life, who came to pay their last homage to the former number one accountant in the State.

 

Members of Osun State Public Service were not left out at the well attended ceremony, especially from the Office of the Accountant-General.

 

The former Accountant- General of Osun State answered the call of God on Monday 5th, August 2024.

 

Mr Babatunde served Osun State as the Accountant-General between 2003 and 2012 with dedication and integrity, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and professionalism. He was a man of spartan discipline, courage and uprightness. His contributions to our financial system and his commitment to public service has left a lasting impact on our State.

 

In a statement of condolence to the family of the deceased, the Accountant-General of Osun State, Mr Rasheed Alabi described the late George Babatunde as man integrity who will be greatly missed.

 

He said the former Accountant-General has left an indelible mark in the State Public Service, stressing that he was fine accountant.

 

The statement reads in parts, “On behalf of the entire Public Service of Osun State, particularly the Office of the Accountant-General, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr Babatunde, friends and colleagues.
