APC Concludes Ondo Reps Primaries, Declares Winners in Nine Federal Constituencies

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its House of Representatives primary elections across the nine federal constituencies in the state, with winners emerging after what the party described as a peaceful and transparent exercise.

Chairman of the Ondo State APC 2026 National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Hon. Iboroma Harry Dabibi, announced the results during a press briefing on Sunday, saying the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy and unity.

Dabibi said the committee, constituted by the party’s National Working Committee, successfully conducted the first phase of its assignment in line with the Electoral Act and the APC constitution.

He commended party leaders, members and stakeholders in the state for their orderly conduct throughout the exercise, noting that the primaries were peaceful and credible.

According to the results announced by the returning officers, Ifeoluwa Ehindero won the APC ticket for Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency with 22,304 votes, defeating Ibrahim Moruf Tosin, who polled 330 votes, and other contestants.

In Ondo West/Ondo East Federal Constituency, Dr. Abiola Peter Makinde emerged winner with 10,847 votes, ahead of Ade Adeniyi, who secured 2,045 votes.

For Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Dr. Damamola Olumuyiwa clinched victory with 6,547 votes, while Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji Ohwovoriole won the Akure North/Akure South ticket with 9,237 votes.

The committee also declared Hon. Adefarati Gboyega winner of the Akoko South East/Akoko South West primary after the votes scored by Dr. Ategboole Olusegun Victor were invalidated on the grounds that he was not cleared by the screening committee.

Similarly, Engr. Kayode Ijalana emerged winner of the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency primary after the 9,690 votes recorded by Hon. Ayodeji Arowele Samuel were voided for failing to secure clearance from the screening committee.

In Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Rasaq Obe was declared winner after the votes scored by Hon. Adefisoye Tajudeen Adeyemi were invalidated for the same reason.

Other winners announced by the committee include Hon. Matthew Oyerimade for Odigbo/Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Federal Constituency and Akingboye Akinleke David for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency.

Dabibi appealed to aggrieved aspirants and party members to embrace unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He urged members of the party to work together to ensure victory for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in Ondo State during the next general election.
