INEC REC Urges Female Youths To Embrace Electoral Process Confidently At HFDI Political Participation Training

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Osun State, Dr Agboke Mutiu Olaleke has urged young female participants in politics to embrace the electoral process with confidence and without fear.
The Osun REC made this known at the sensitization workshop organized by Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI with the support of the German Foreign Office to enlighten young girls on the need to be more active and to increase and advance participation of women in politics.
At the four days programme on advance female aspirants participation and involvement in politics training, which held at GMT Auditorium, Dr Agboke encouraged the young women to reject self-limiting beliefs, advising them to avoid gender hindrance that could also limit their aspirations, pursuit of leadership roles.
Stressing on the importance of maintaining integrity, decency, and professionalism as to navigate the complex political landscape. Dr. Agboke also expressed his strong support for the workshop’s initiative.
Acknowledging the significant impact the training has on empowering young women to become active and informed participants in the political process, he commended Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI and its sponsors for the laudable programme.
In his remark, the Executive Director of Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI), Dr. Amb. Aremu Stephen Akinyele appreciated the Osun REC for taking time out of his demanding schedule to engage with the participants.
Dr. Akinyele underscored the value of the REC’s counsel, emphasizing that the advice shared would be instrumental in shaping the young women’s paths forward, while he encouraged the participants to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their goals, reminding them that their journey towards becoming effective leaders and change-makers would require perseverance and commitment.
The young female participants at the programme expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to learn from esteemed mentors, and vowed to apply the knowledge and insights gained to bring about positive change in their respective communities, with renewed determination to make a difference in the political and social spheres.
The training on the need and importance of more women involvement and participation in selective and appointive positions, for young Girls across local governments in Osun state, addressed issues such as Voters Education, Media and Publicity, Gender, Political engagement, party support, funding, among others.
