HFDI Sensitises Children Living with HIV/AIDS on Transmission and Adherence to Prescription in Akwa Ibom

Towards providing qualitative health support services to the marginalised, Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI sensitised Adolescents living with HIV/Aids on understanding their status and adhering to prescriptions.

 

The sensitization program courtesy of Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award ICHSSA 1 Project Implementation, held at Primary Health Centre Operational Base Nsit Ubium, Akwa Ibom State.

 

The facilitator, Mrs Glory Faustinus engaged the children with a recap of sections from the beginning of the OTZ program, where she talked about disclosure, the meaning of HIV and Aids, means of transmission and proper adherence to medical drugs.

 

Speaking on Viral Load, viral suppression and the health importance, she made the participants to understand what it means, how to achieve viral suppression and the health importance of being virally suppressed.

 

Discussion was made on the series of practices that some of the CLHIV participants can engage in, that will cause unsuppressed Viral load and how to overcome the issues.

 

The twelve Operation Triple Zero OTZ Participants, three males and nine females at the sensitisation lecture also asked questions, which was answered in simplest form of their understanding.
