Advance Women Participation In Politics: HFDI Holds Capacity Building Program For Female Aspirants In Oyo

For advancing women’s political participation and representation in Southwest Nigeria, Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI held four days capacity building training for female political aspirants in Oyo State.

 

The training program which is focused on empowering women to actively participate in politics, and improve their knowledge, featured present and future female aspirants in the state.

 

In her remarks the program manager, Adeola Falana said the initiative, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office through Ifa’s Zivik funding program, engaged the participants in interactive workshops and discussions, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful political campaigns and effective leadership roles.

Targeting the need for good governance and representation, she added that discussion was also made on Gender and Sex as well as campaign strategies where the participants were divided Into groups to give their collective opinion.

 

The Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI program for female elected candidates in south west Nigeria supported by German federal foreign office’s funds by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehunge), Zivik funding programme, charged the media to heighten the campaign in favor of women.

 

The female aspirants were also urged to improve on their roles with the different political stakeholders, support one another as women in politics and to further strengthen their willingness to contest for political positions.
