Excellence in Governance: Erelu Ngozi Adeleke Awarded By United Nations

The First Lady of Osun State; H.E. Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke has been honored by United Nations, as she receives Prestigious Award of Excellence in Governance. .
The award presentation which was made to the Governor’s Wife at the Edu Wealth Africa Summit, held at UN Floor, New York City, United States of America on 18th of March 2024.
The program, based on marking significant milestone in the global discourse on women’s empowerment and governance, themed “Transforming Lives, Building Futures for Women and Girls,” showcased remarkable leadership and advocacy for gender equality.
Her Excellency Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, a distinguished figure in governance and First Lady Of Osun State, receiving the first of its kind Award of Excellence in Governance by the United Nations Global Women Foundation, shows that her display of unwavering commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities of women and girls, has been a beacon of inspiration across Africa and beyond.
The summit was graced by eminent personalities and dignitaries from diverse fields, underscoring the international significance of the event. Co-hosted by Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, Chief NGO Ambassador to the United Nations Ambassador for Peace, and co-founder of Trinity Girls Network, Corp, alongside Naimah Hassan, co-founder, and chairperson of Disruptor and Policy Shifter in International Development Communications and Media, the summit fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas and initiatives.
Among the esteemed guests were Reem Abdellatif, co-founder, and Global Communications Lead; Domtila Chesang, AWR East Africa Lead; Mamlisa Camara, AWR West Africa Lead; Djessou Kouyate, representing the Inter-African Committee on Traditional Practice; Dr. Nellie Kangwa; Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, President of the Helpline Foundation for the Needy, Abuja; Dr. Maryam Ogundepo, Founder of Achana Foundation; Dr. Paola Andres Villa, and Chief DCN Linda Middleton, CEO of KBPL Group.
The gathering served as a platform to celebrate exemplary individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing gender equity and inclusive governance, and through collaborative efforts and innovative strategies, participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to effecting meaningful change in communities worldwide.
