NAWOJ Congratulates Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on Her Election as 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) heartily congratulates Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her historic election as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Her emergence as the leader of Nigeria’s foremost professional body for legal practitioners is a remarkable testament to her competence, integrity, resilience and unwavering commitment to the advancement of the legal profession.
As an accomplished Senior Advocate of Nigeria, her election marks another significant milestone in the growing recognition of women’s capacity to provide purposeful leadership in institutions that shape the nation’s democratic and justice systems.
Reacting to the outcome of the election, the National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, described the victory as a defining moment for the legal profession and a source of inspiration for women across the country.
“The election of Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association is a defining moment not only for the legal profession but also for Nigerian women. It reaffirms that competence, integrity and visionary leadership remain the hallmarks of true service.

Hajia Ibrahim further noted that Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya’s emergence would inspire more women and girls to aspire to leadership positions through excellence, diligence and dedication to service.
She reaffirmed NAWOJ’s commitment to working with the Nigerian Bar Association in promoting access to justice, defending press freedom, advancing gender equality and supporting initiatives that foster national development.
