Residents Jubilate as Osun Govt Lays Asphalt on Peter Ajibola Street, Alekuwodo
By Kingsley Omoyeni,
In an effort to make life easy for residents of Peter Ajibola Street, Alekuwodo in Osogbo, the State Government has commenced the asphalt laying of the road to delight of the people.
The intervention became necessary because of the dusty nature of the street as a result of the diversion of vehicles into the road to allow the smooth progress of the Alekuwodo fly-over construction.
Residents of the area had cried to the State Government to do something about the dusty nature of the road which they claim has become unbearable and endangering their health.
The residents expressed joy and delight on the commencement of the asphalt laying process which they claim is another testament to the fact that the Senator Ademola Adeleke administration is determined to make life better for residents.
An octogenarian who stays on the street, Pa Muraina Aremu, who was visibly excited said the asphalt intervention is a thing of joy for him, because the dust has been unbearable.
He said the intervention has come as a huge relief for every resident of the area because they have had to endure what he described as a terrible situation.
Also speaking, a food vendor on the street, Mrs Adiatu Folasade who kept chanting “thank you Ademola, thank you Ademola” said the former nature of the road affected her business negatively because of the dust.
In her words, ” Seeing the commencement of this asphalt laying process is like I have won a huge lottery award. I am so excited as you can see from my look, may God bless Governor Ademola Adeleke for us.”
In a reaction, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Bashir Bello explained that the Governor is a man who will never want any form of hardship for any resident of the State, hence the approval for the asphalt laying.
