Outreach: HFDI Visits Zion Baptist High School On Educational Success

Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI), Osun State, carried out an impactful school outreach at Zion Baptist School, Agunbelewo, Osogbo.

The outreach was focused on the topic “Daily Habits and Steps to Achieve Educational Success”, a subject designed to inspire students toward discipline, academic excellence, and personal growth.

The facilitators, Sangodele Yemi alongside and Ajayi Itunuoluwa explained that daily habits refer to small, consistent actions and routines that individuals practice every day.

She emphasized that these habits have a long-term effect on success because they help shape behavior, build momentum, and create lasting positive change.

Students were encouraged to cultivate daily habits that can support their educational journey. The discussion was presented in eight simple steps:

1. Set Clear Goals: Students were advised to decide what they want to achieve academically, such as improving grades or mastering new subjects. They were encouraged to write their goals down and review them daily as a source of motivation.

2. Plan Your Day: The importance of creating a personal timetable that includes reading, homework, rest, and recreation was highlighted. Students were advised to stay organized and manage their time wisely.

3. Start Small and Stay Consistent: The facilitator explained that habits develop through consistency. Students were encouraged to start with small steps, such as studying for 30 minutes each day, and to keep at it until it becomes a lifestyle.

4. Avoid Distractions: The outreach stressed the need to limit time-wasting activities like excessive phone use or chatting during study hours. Choosing a quiet place to study helps maintain focus and enhances learning.

5. Be Punctual and Disciplined: Students were reminded that punctuality and discipline are key to academic success. They were advised to attend classes regularly, complete assignments early, and develop a sense of responsibility.

6. Review and Reflect Daily: The facilitator encouraged students to evaluate their daily performance—what went well and what could be improved. This practice, she explained, helps them learn from mistakes and continuously grow.

7. Take Care of Yourself: Emphasis was placed on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through good nutrition, adequate rest, and personal hygiene. A healthy body supports a sound and active mind, which is essential for learning.

8. Stay Positive and Prayerful: The session concluded with an encouragement for students to remain positive, believe in themselves, and seek divine guidance. They were reminded that persistence, faith, and self-belief are powerful ingredients for success.

The session was interactive, inspiring, and well-received by the students. Many participated actively, by answering questions on topic discussed.
