Governor Adeleke Flaggs-off Rehabilitation of 5.68km Ede-Egbedi-Erin Osun Intercity Road

In another effort to open up the State to attract investors and boost the economy, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has flagged-off the rehabilition of yet another road.
This time, it is the rehabilition of the Ede-Egbedi-Erin Osun intercity road which has been scheduled to be completed in the next 8 months.
The road which connects Osun West and Osun East Senatorial Districts will no doubt assist farmers in the area to easily move their farm produce from their farms to the city centers.
Speaking at the official flag-off ceremony of the project, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke said the project is being embarked upon with a view to attracting investors into the State to create jobs and boost the economy.
The Governor, who was represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Basiru Salami added that the road which cuts across Ede North, Egbedore and Irepodun Local Government areas has been broken into three sections for ease of execution and timely delivery of the project.
He noted that the 5.68km length of road will be completed at the cost of N1,069,847,769.05 by Direct Labour Execution to patronise local content and boost the economy.
In his words, “This administration is committed to the infrastructure development of the State, having been convinced that the economic development of any community rely solely on good roads to access the goods and services that are inherent in communities across the State”, the Governor stated.
In a goodwill message, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi described the achievements of Senator Ademola Adeleke as unprecedented in the history of the State, stressing that the Ede-Egbedi-Erin Osun intercity road is of the high economic value as it is a road that connects a lot of farmlands to the city centres.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Southwest Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe urged the host community to cooperate with the contractors on site for easy running of the project.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Bashir Bello assured of quality and timely delivery of the project.
