FG Summons Meeting With Labour Over Minimum Wage, Strike

The federal government has called for a meeting of the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.

The meeting was summoned through the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC).

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4.

Osun Defender reports that Organised Labour has commenced industrial action after the deadline on the new minimum wage lapses without agreeing with the FG.

During the last meeting of the committee on May 31st, the organized labour negotiation team left abruptly after the government and organized private sector refused to increase their offer of N60,000.
