Fed Poly Ede Rector Hails Osun NIESV, Partners On Development

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic Ede, Dr. Sani Man-Yahaya has hailed the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers NIESV Osun Branch for being proactive, about the members of the professional body at large

 

This is as he commended Osun NIESV and its members who are lecturers of the Estate management department on professionalism.

 

Dr Sani Man-Yahaya, who is the sixth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, stated this while playing host to the executives and members of the institution, led by the Osun NIESV Chairman ESV Adekunle Adedoye, at the courtesy visit paid to him, at his office in the school campus.

 

The Rector added that the Federal polytechnic Ede is a great institution that produces great products, said the Estate department is one of the best departments in the citadel of learning.

 

He also applauded the Chairman for placing priority on the welfare of the estate Valuers lecturers and students, adding that their contribution contributes to the development of the faculty at the South Campus of Ede Poly.

 

Stating that research on the NIESV shows they have landmark achievements in Osun, he assured them of proffering solution to the Car and Housing Loans sought for its members, and he added that they will also be considered for annual conferences and workshops needed for growth in the public service from one step to another.

 

Dr Man-Yahaya who took cognizant of the achievements of the estate department and its professional body, added that their scope will be increased in maintenance of the school facilities and that the quality assurance projected should be sustained. “Our Success is a collective efforts, the rector stated.”

 

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman, Osun state Branch of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers NIESV, ESV Adekunle Adedoye FNIVS, RSV, recognized and congratulated the Rector for his emergence as rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, he opined that the Estate Valuer Lecturers and Students are part of the professional body, hence we becoming familiar with their welfare in the institution.

The NIESV Institution advocated the welfarism of Estate department lecturers and students of the Federal polytechnic Ede, seeking for necessary provision for the parties mentioned.

 

Adedoye who is a Fellow of NIESV stated that combining practical and classroom experience to balance the situation, and sponsoring the department Lecturers to national conferences yearly, which he said showcase trends, such as feasibility study, facility management among other things going on in valuation industry is to broaden knowledge, and this is to ensure the students are out half baked, but fully equipped.

 

He stressed further that maintaining granting of necessary access and imprest is also needed for the sustenance of the lectures and their functions, and he commended the Rector and Faculty Dean as a thorough bred professionals, adding that the NIESV institution is always ready to support the department to achieve Success of the School Environmental, which includes the department of Estate management.

 

According to him, ‘seeking the welfare of the professional members of the Estate department is important, car and housing loans, as well as attending annual conference of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers is a given objective, and he urged the Rector to approve the attendance of the Lecturers and students on the state Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) and other monthly stipulated meeting of the institution.

This he said, is with the aim of eradicating quackery in the state, prepare the students for future employment and establishing them in the estate surveyor and Valuers terrain.

 

ESV Adedoye also asked the Rector of the Ede Polytechnic to make the professional estate surveyors and Valuers in the department to work as the facility managers of the institution, asserting that it’s one of their functions as professionals.

 

At an earlier visit to the Dean of the Estate Management, QS Oladele Opatunji, represented by Surveyor Gbenga Odeyemi expressed excitement to receive NIESV Osun state Branch, thanked them for their support and donation of the textbooks to the department.

Applauding the state Branch of the institution for being active, he added that their gesture shows the bonds with the department and as a professional body, as well as to the commitment to the growth and development of the students.

 

He added that their presence will give the students the opportunity to interact and learn about the profession, thereby fostering mentorship, networking, and exchange of knowledge and ideas.

 

NIESV professionals at the courtesy visit include: ESV Sola Adebiyi Vice Chairman, ESV Grace Adedayo Secretary, ESV Kolawole Olaluwe Treasurer, ESV Sade Salami Financial Secretary, ESV. O.B.F. Adeagbo Asst Secretary, ESV Damilare Olabiyi Ex-officio, ESV Pst Segun Fasiku Immediate past Chairman, ESV Dr. Mrs Bola Adegoke Chairperson NIESV Osun women wing, and ESV Dr Amos, among others.

 

Highlight of the courtesy visit by the state executives of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, was the counselling of the students, presentation of textbooks to the department, and the Award of Honour presented to the Rector, Engr Dr. Sani Man-Yahaya in recognition of his laudable contribution to the growth and development of Federal Polytechnic Ede.
