Drug Abuse: Osun NDLEA Introduces Drug Test Kit In UNIOSUN 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Osun Command has introduced a drug test kit in Osun State University (UNIOSUN).

 

The kit according to the Osun NDLEA Commander, Chidi Nnadi CN will serve as a tool to help control drug abuse within the university.

 

The Commander who emphasised the pervasive issue of drug abuse during the agency’s visit to the university on Wednesday noted that the university community is not immune to this menace.

 

In his response, the University Vice Chancellor, Prof Clement Adebooye advised the agency to create jingles and advertise against drug abuse on popular radio programs.

 

Adebooye also implored NDLEA to do more in the area of enforcement. The visit according to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Charles Odigie concluded with an exhibition of drug samples recovered within the state.

 

The statement reads: “On July 24, 2024, the State Commander, Nnadi W. Chidi, CN and his management team paid an advocacy visit to Osun State University’s main campus in Osogbo. They were received by Vice Chancellor Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye and his management team.

 

“During the visit, the Commander emphasized the pervasive issue of drug abuse, noting that the university community is not immune to this problem. He introduced a drug test kit as a tool to help control drug abuse within the university.

 

“In response, the Vice Chancellor advised the agency to create jingles and advertise against drug abuse on popular radio programs, and also implored the agency to do more in the area of enforcement. The visit concluded with an exhibition of drug samples recovered within the state.”
